Honda’s cheerful little motorcycle, the Grom, gets a full restyle for the 2017 model year.
The part minibike, part motorcycle retains most of its mechanicals, but has a decidedly different look to it. 2017 brings an integrated fuel tank and side panels, along with a stacked LED headlight layout out front. A new flip-key, revised handlebar design, under-slung exhaust, upswept tail unit and a lifted passenger seat round out the rest of the design changes.
Carried over from previous model years, the Grom keeps its 125cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine as the sole power option. Providing even more fun to the equation is the four-speed transmission that lets you do the work. The bright yellow color option from last year has been replaced with the green shown here as well.
Purchasing one of these two-wheeled runabouts will put you back $3,199. They’re expected to be available in August. For those with intentions of using their two-wheeler for more practical reasons, Honda is bringing back the PCX150 scooter with two new colors for 2017: pearl white and dark pearl blue.
Honda isn’t forgetting about those who enjoy more than two wheels, either: three ATV models from last year get the call to return for 2017. The FourTrax Foreman Rubicon and FourTrax Foreman 4×4 are coming in August, and the TR90X is coming but its availability date is still unknown.
Named after a term of endearment for a talented young surfer, the playful Honda Grom 125 was an immediate hit when it debuted for 2014. Dealers couldn’t keep them in stock, buyers flipped them for profit and aftermarket suppliers jumped in with both feet to offer hop-up parts, everything from carbon-fiber exhaust pipes to high-end suspension—all for a bike that retailed for $3k. Hoepfully we will see these at dealerships in the fall of this year.
