This weekend at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Raceway, the world’s quickest streetbikes will heat the tires to compete on the quarter mile with no less than $5000 on the line in the Big Money Pro Street Shootout, followed by regular purse winnings in Sunday’s eliminations. Each NHDRO event shines a spotlight on a different class, and on September 23-25 at the World Finals, it’s McIntosh Machine & Fabrication Pro Street’s turn.

The timing could not be better as title bouts wage all around at NHDRO’s final race of the season. The Pro Street championship has already been wrapped up by Michigan racer Mark Paquette. After skipping the Huntsville opener, Paquette has won every single round in a devastatingly dominant performance on his turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa.

Wildcard Joey Jobbe was a surprise finalist in August and will be looking to claim the Shootout winnings on Saturday along with Brandon Mitchan, Jordan Haase, and Louisville runner-up Brandon Coley.

Veteran racers Rudy Sanzottera and his Quicktime Motorsports turbo ‘Busa, Ryan Hable, Gabe Frederick, Indy homeboy Justin Doucet, three-time MIRock champion Rodney Williford and his John Drake/No Fear teammate D.D. Boulware, former NHDRO champ “Mothug” Doug Gall, Detroit’s Ronnie Mitchell Racing team of Michael Bayes and Jeremy Teasley, North Carolina’s Ehren Litten will all be trying to take home the big payday, clearly the biggest Pro Street race of 2016.

Sadly, in the battle for championships, Marty “Pops” Sanzottera will not be in the house to defend his HMH Motorsports Coatings Pro Open points lead, as Pops continues to recover from serious injuries sustained in a recent road crash. This leaves the door open to Chris Cutsinger to pass Sanzottera for the championship, but only if a large enough field gives him the rounds he needs to do it.

Jeff Lindeman has a commanding lead over Chase Morris in Quicktime Motorsports/Lindeman Performance Pro Ultra 4.60, which could see his bike win the title for the second year straight. Last year’s champ Les Stimac was in the seat before coming out with his own mount this year.

Heather Baldi was able to take over the G&G Metal Spinners Top Gas points lead from perennial champion Greg Mallett in August while Mallet recovered from surgery. But he’ll be back in helmet and Bates Leathers this weekend and looking to regain what appears to be his birthright.

The Millennium Trailers Super Comp chase couldn’t be any tighter, with August’s Big Money MPS Pro ET winner John “Spooky” Markham ahead of Dragbike BAMF Dustin “Biscuits” Lee by only two points. Iowa’s Bruce Damewood is still within striking distance and this one will go down to the final round.

Motorcycle House Crazy 8s is nearly as tight as Super Comp, with Wes Brown carrying a nine point lead over Ron “Jiu-Jitsu” Arnold, Lee lurking in third, and Chad Fleener a close fourth.

Lee is leading Arnold by 53 points in Route 21 Street Fighter with Danny Miller in third.

Ricky Scott Jr. has a 40 point lead over Markham in MPS Pro ET, followed by Joe “Top Step of the Dugout” Deck in third. With Pro ET races both Saturday and Sunday, anything can happen in this class.
