A Menifee man was arrested Tuesday, April 4, after Riverside authorities say they caught him in Homeland riding a motorcycle valued at $11,000 that did not belong to him.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies spotted 35-year-old Jesse Wayne Osburn riding the motorcycle in the 32000 block of Beechum Way in Homeland and identified it as a green 2017 Kawasaki that was reported stolen March 27 during a home burglary in Menifee.

They tried to pull Osburn over, but he drove away toward nearby foothills, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. Deputies set up a perimeter and called a K-9 unit to assist them.

The K-9 tracked and apprehended Osburn shortly thereafter.

He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of receiving stolen property, first-degree residential burglary and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, jail records show. Bail was set at $35,000.

Anyone with information about the investigation may contact the Perris sheriff’s station at 951-210-1000.
